TIGER I

Historical Background:
Tank # 8, belonged to sPzKP Meyer. Hobby Master has even replicated the unit nickname 'Strolch' which is German for
vagabond.Prior to Germany losing Sicily, eight Tiger I’s were shipped on July 28, 1943 to supply an independent unit that was headed for Italy. This group was known as “Tigergruppe Meyer”, named after it’s commander and since at the time it was independent of any other group they took the nickname “Strolch” German for vagabond. In August through November of 1943 the small group of eight Tigers were attached to PzJgAbt. 46. Then again on February 4 1944 the group was renamed Tigergruppe
Schwebbach and attached to the LXXVI Panzer Korps which was assigned to attack the Allied landing at Anzio.
